82nd Raleigh Christmas Parade is Saturday Nov 21, steps off at 9:30 from Hillsborough and St. Mary's and runs down Fayetteville St. Last time we went we got there at 9:15 and saw basically the back of a stroller for two hours. Taking a 4 and 6 year old this year. When do you get there and where do you park without losing your mind?

We go down by the Capitol end of Fayetteville. Fewer people than up near the start and the kids can see the balloons coming for a block. Got there 8:15 last year and had curb space.

Park in one of the decks south of Davie and walk up. Everyone fights over the ones near Hillsborough. Also bring a camp chair for the adults, 2.5 hours on a curb is rough.

8:15 with two kids is ambitious but probably right. Is the end by the Capitol where Santa finishes or does he keep going?

He comes all the way down, Santa is the very last float so the Capitol end gets him last but you still get him. Just don't bail early lol

Pack hand warmers. It looks sunny in every photo and then it's 38 degrees standing in the shade of the buildings. GRMA posts the route map at grma.org a couple weeks before if you want to plan around the road closures.
