My two are dragging me to Chance The Rapper at Red Hat Amphitheater on Saturday, August 29. Doors at 5:30, show at 7.
First time I have taken kids to a show downtown. Question for the veterans, what is the bag policy situation there these days and how strict are they at the gate? I would rather find out now than in line with two annoyed teenagers behind me.

Bag rules at that venue have changed more than once, so check the venue page the week of rather than trusting anyone here. Safe move is pockets only or a very small clear bag.

Doors at 5:30 for a 7 pm show in late August means you are standing in full sun on concrete for a while. Water and a hat, seriously.

We did a Red Hat show with our kids last year and the thing that surprised me was how loud the lawn area is compared to the seats. Earplugs if anyone is sensitive.

Set a meeting spot with the kids before you go in. Cell service down there gets useless when the place is full.
The meeting spot advice is the best thing in this thread. Learned that one the hard way at a festival.
