A casual untimed 5K run or walk through Raleigh's Warehouse District finishing with a craft beer celebration at Crank Arm Brewing.

Putting this out there because it is the least intimidating race format I have found. The NC Brewery Running Series stop at Crank Arm Brewing on West Davie is Saturday October 24 at 11:00.

Run it, jog it, or walk the whole thing with a friend, nobody cares and there is no chip timing pressure. You finish in the Warehouse District and the celebration is right there at the brewery.

I am trying to get a few neighbors to do it as a group. If four or five of us sign up I will drive the van downtown so we are not all hunting parking on Davie.

Did this series twice. The course is flatter than most things downtown and the crowd is genuinely mixed, strollers and dogs and people walking it in jeans. Good first 5K.

Warehouse District at 11 on a Saturday means brunch places nearby are slammed by the time you finish. Eat light before, celebrate at the brewery, sort out real food at one.

I signed up for one of these last year, did no training at all and my calves filed a complaint for a week. Walk some of it, it is not a moral failing.

Davie Street parking on a Saturday morning is not as bad as it sounds, but the van plan is smarter. Register early, these caps fill.
