Packapalooza on Hillsborough Street, Saturday the 22nd

Packapalooza is Saturday, August 22, 2 pm to 10 pm on Hillsborough Street by NC State.

We bought our first house in June and this is our first one. Is it worth taking a five year old to, or is it more of a college crowd once it gets dark? Also wondering how far out the street closures reach, since a friend lives off Oberlin and we were going to park there.

Afternoon is family friendly. The vibe shifts later in the evening, so go early, eat, look at the booths and be gone before dark with a five year old.

Street closure footprint varies year to year. The city posts the closure map ahead of the event, look that up rather than guessing off last year.

Parking off Oberlin and walking in has worked for us. It is a walk but you are not trapped when it ends.

Bring cash for some of the smaller vendors. Not all of them are quick with card readers when the street is packed.
