My wife has listened to roughly nine thousand hours of true crime podcasts while gardening, so this one is going on the calendar whether I like it or not. Dr. Scott Bonn, the criminology professor, is doing Serial Killers Live at A.J. Fletcher Opera Theater on Thursday October 1 at 7:30.

It is the lecture and case study format rather than a reenactment show, from what I can tell. Fletcher is small enough that you are not watching it on a screen, which is the appeal.

Also October 1 is apparently the busiest night in Raleigh this fall, since two other big things are happening downtown at the same time.

My dad worked around enough grim scenes that I cannot do this genre at all, but Fletcher is a great room for a talk. Good acoustics and no bad seats really.

Three big events one night downtown. Park once, walk.

If the arena and the amphitheater are both letting out around the same time, getting out of the South Street area after 10 is going to be a project. I would plan on a slow crawl or a late dinner.

Went to a talk of his years back in another city. He is a straight up academic about it, not sensational, which I respected.

well and septic, no regrets

Fair warning, that is not a light evening. My wife could not sleep after the last one of these we did.
